One of Five National Prize Recipients of IPL’s 10% Challenge!
Interfaith Power & Light is pleased to announce that Winston- Salem Friends Meeting is one of the winners of this year’s 10% Challenge, which is a united effort by diverse religious communities to address global warming by reducing their carbon footprint at least ten percent. Approximately 250 congregations from thirty-eight states entered the 10% Challenge. Participants upgraded lighting along with heating and cooling systems; planted native trees and landscaping; and, inspired members to go green at home. Go Winston-Salem Friends!!!

Traditional Quaker beliefs:
- The light of God is in everyone.
- Each individual has worth, dignity, freedom, and responsibility before God.
- Worship involves a direct, inward, personal encounter with God and does not require ritual or ceremony.Christian love and goodwill as a way of life make hatred and violence impossible.
- Love and concern for suffering must find expression in humanitarian service and social justice.
